I love panoramic photography I think it is a fun form of photography, it is easy to do and it is one of the few forms of photography that can even begin to come close to capturing the spender and real life awe of the subjects captured.

While it is certainly possible to make panoramic photography complex and confusing but it doesn't have to be. But, one thing many people don't realize is panoramic images don’t have to be scenic shots of majestic mountains, alpine lakes; vast desserts in bloom panoramic images can be of buildings, parks, fountains, cars and even people. Just like they don’t have to be horizontal, they can be vertical, they can be mosaic (made up of multiple rows and columns of images) they can even be spherical which makes them look like balls or scenery Sample Image.

Assembling Panoramic Photos Cover covers many forms of panoramic photography and how to put them together. This book deals mostly with how to take the pictures, how to use the required software to create the type of panoramic image in question and there is a lot of emphasis on assembling the panorama images manually, stitching software is only talked about a couple of times. Because of the wide variety of panorama types covered the software used isn’t stitching software but 3D programs to wrap a 360 degree panorama on to a 3D sphere creating a spherical panorama or combining using layers and layer masks several images in to one long panoramic type image.

This full color book is small but packed with wonderful sample images and instructions for creating some very nice forms of panoramic photography. Of all of the books I have read dealing with digital photography and panoramic photography this is by far one of my most favorite books. It is just a wonderful book that is not only a good read, but a classroom in a book that will help you branch out and move away from the same old same old horizontal panorama.

Chapters:

Chapter 1: Waterfalls of Ice
Chapter 2: At the Restaurant
Chapter 3: Frenzy at the Almanarre Beach
Chapter 4: The Workshop
Chapter 5: Urban Sphere
Chapter 6: On the Boulevards
Chapter 7: The Phare Des Baleines Lighthouse
Chapter 8: Venice: The Orseolo Basin

This is a wonderful book and well worth the cover price of $19.95. It shows you many fun and beautiful techniques and forms of panoramic photography. A true joy. It is also interesting to note that this book is translated from French and it was very well done.
