Panoramic photography has never been more popular than it is now. All thanks to the lowly digital camera. No matter what kind of digital camera you have from the inexpensive point and shoot to the high end point and shoot to the intermediate dSLR to the high end dSLR all of these cameras can shoot the pictures needed to create a panoramic image.

Panoramic photography has become so popular that even professional grade programs like Adobe Photoshop includes photo stitching features, not to mention all of the standalone programs you can get for stitching images. Some digital cameras even include a standalone stitching program. And, finally some digital cameras walk you through the process of shooting the images and then stitches them together right in the camera, though these features are very limited they are there in a few cameras none the less.

So with all of the popularity in panoramic photography we are starting to see books dedicated to this fun and surprisingly easy type of photography. One such book is Panoramic Photography from Composition and Exposure to Final Exhibition. This book while not hundreds of pages thick covers everything you need to know about how to shoot, stitch and create incredible panoramic images. There are tons of full color examples that not only are fun to look at but inspiring too.

The book starts by covering such things as depth of field, angles of view, hyperfocal difference and more. It then moves in to framing and composition, it then moves in to various types of cameras from flatback film cameras to swing lens and rotational cameras to using common 35mm and digital cameras to shoot a series of images for stitching together as well as how stitch them together and finally printing, displaying and archiving your panoramic images.

Panoramic Photography is a unique book as it deals with not only the popular 35mm and digital cameras in use today, but also the much more expensive flatback, swing lens and rotational cameras as well. While I have no need for the information on these kinds of cameras I found them festinating to read about.

This is a very nice little book that covers a fun form of photography. In is very complete, easy to read and is loaded with wonderful example images. Even the parts that don't apply to the camera you plan to use is still a good read. I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to shoot panoramic images or that has shot panoramic images but want to go full out.
