Bullet

There is no doubt that in today's world the vast majority of us are walking around with at least on piece of high technology on our person. It can be a cell phone, PDA, iPod, MP3 player, digital camera, laptop computer, etc.

Some of us carry around more than once device. But, the one thing nearly all of these devices have in common is an LCD screen. And because these devices are on the road with us they tend to get bumped and dinged and scratched and generally get more wear and tear than a device that sits at home on a desk or in the living room.

If your like me this isn't an issue and is expected, however if your also like me the last part of the device you want scratched or dinged is the LCD screen. Lets face it these things are hard enough to see in daylight without them be scuffed and scratched. LCD screens on portable devices are often our only source of information about the device and what it's doing and often especially with devices like the iPhone or iPod Touch that have touch screens they are our interface for making choices and selecting features. We don't need them scratched and scuffed. Not to mention it makes the device look bad and we don't want that. Status symbols are important and so is having them look cool!

Well, there are a lot of things you can do to prevent this from happening. If you leave the item unopened in the box you don't have to worry about scratches and scuffs on the LCD screen. You can buy thin plastic film and cut it to fit over the LCD screen. The problem with this is most films are not very strong, they can be hard to cut to fit the device, you can end up with bubbles and wrinkles and some of them can be hard or even impossible to remove. If you go with just any old sticky film there could be chemicals in the adhesive that could damage your device or the LCD screen.

While film is in my opinion the best way to protect your device's LCD screen Example. It is important to buy a quality product that is not only designed for electronic devices, but already cut to fit your specific device. You also want a film that is as tough as possible Example, it doesn't do you any good to go to the trouble to put protective film on your device if the first time you have a minor bump the plastic is trashed.

No what you want is top of the line protection in your film and that my friends comes from only one place Zagg Inc.'s invisibleSHIELD product line. Not only do they have support for a very wide range of products from iPods, to GPS, to Digital Cameras to Laptop computers the invisibleSHIELD material is nearly indestructible.

But, more importantly invisibleSHIELD is easy to put on and should you ever need to remove it, it can be removed without leaving any residue behind and without damage to your device.

The other thing that is interesting is that some of the invisibleSHIELD film packages not only include LCD protection but full device protection. For example the film package for the Apple iPod covers nearly all of the iPod and not just the LCD screen. The laptop film packages cover not only the LCD screen, but the top surface around the keyboard, the top and bottom of the laptop as well Example. This is excellent full device protection. It is also nice that the film packages come precut to fit your device perfectly and I mean perfectly.

To put the film on you simply clean off the device, peel off the film making sure not to touch the sticky side with your finger so you don't have any finger prints, spray the film with an applications spray (this allows you to easily slide the film around on the device to get it to fit perfectly. You can apply the film, slide to adjust and then wipe off any extra application liquid, then use the included rubber install squeegee to workout any air bubbles. You then allow the film and device to dry for 12 to 24 hours and your off.

Now I am sure you are wondering about the application spray and causing damage to your device. Well, I can tell you that for my 5th generation iPod, my Toshiba notebook computer, my Garmin GPS and my Pentax K20D dSLR camera I had no problems at all. The secret is to spray the film and not the device, once the film is in place wipe up any excess spray and then allow everything to dry before turning on the device. If you do all of this you will have no problems.

Zagg Inc offers a 30-day money back guarantee and the every invisibleSHIELD product has a lifetime guarantee, I quote from their web site " The lifetime replacement guarantee is simply what it says. If your invisibleSHIELD ever becomes scratched, torn or damaged in any way while protecting your device, we will replace the invisibleSHIELD for free, for life."

Now invisibleSHIELD may cost a bit more than other "protective" films, but the quality of this product, its perfect fit for your device, the wide range of devices supported and the lifetime guarantee means you buy once and you are protected for life that to me is worth a little extra money.
