Web sites other than those owned by companies that have provided review products or services (see above) may link to our home page (http://www.pcreviewonline.com) only. Linking to any review, image or other files on our site is strictly forbidden without prior written permission.

Unsolicited Review Product Submissions and Products to Review Suggestions

We are always open to suggestions on new products to review. Please feel free to let us know if you think there is something we should review. We make no promises or guarantees, but we look at all suggestions submitted.

If you wish to send us product to review please understand that we make no promises and make no guarantees about reviewing such unrequested submissions. However, all products are looked at and considered. We are unable to return products sent to us for review consideration even if we decide not to review it. If you must have the product back, please contact us before you send it and we can tell you if it is something we would be willing to review.

Spam

Any company, individual or entity that uses our e-mail address to send unsolicited spam will be reported to their ISP’s, e-mail service or authorities. We don’t read, respond to, or buy products or services from spammers. You are wasting your time and we curse you with an ancient gypsy curse so you will get worts in funny places.

How We Review Products and Services

Since we started in March 1992 we have taken a rather pragmatic approach to reviewing products and services, we review them as if we are the consumer. We do not believe in benchmark testing, lab testing or any other highly technical testing. We feel that such tests provide a lot of nice looking numbers which in the end mean very little. If a product has problems or doesn’t perform well or work like it should in the real-world under real-world conditions that to us is more important information than a bunch of numbers derived from controlled lab testing. Very few consumers that we know use a product in a controlled lab environment, so why test it as if they do. Because of this real-world approach it can sometimes take us 2 or more months to get a product reviewed, hardware does take longer than software or services. However, we feel that using a product or service like a real consumer would makes our reviews more useful and interesting.

We also want to stress that the reviews and opinions on our site are our own. We feel that it is very important for all consumers to take the time to do the research for any items or services they are considering for purchase. We appricate you reading our reviews and considering our opinion when doing your research, however we strongly urge you not to use any one source of information to make your decision and yes that includes the reviews and material on this site. Getting more opinions and opinions from various perspectives will help ensure that you are happy with your purchase. Our reviews, articles and other information on our site is not provided tp be the sole source of information but one stop along your path of research.

Review Availability and Links

Generally every year or so we update our site and remove old outdated reviews. We do this to keep our site lean and mean and to remove reviews for products that are either no longer available or for products that have had new versions released. If you decide to link to one of our reviews from our site, please check the link periodically to make sure that it still works. We are with this current site update (9-12-07) taking steps to keep reviews up as long as possible. However, we will remove a review for any product that has been updated provided we have reviewed the new updated product. In the case of a site redesign or rearrangement the locations for a review may change. The review is still available, but found at a different URL on our site. Again if you link to one of our reviews please check the link periodically and make sure that it still works. We do not send out notifications to anyone that links to our reviews are about to change or have changed. It is up to those who link to the reviews to make sure their links work and are up to date. Companies that provide us with review product or services are more than welcome to quote our review on their site so that in the case of a review being removed or relocated the gist of the review will still be available to those visiting your site. When quoting part of our review on your site, please at least include a link to our main page (http://www.pcreviewonline.com) so that if the visitor wishes to come to our site and find the full review they have easy access to do so.
