The Apple iPod is 5 years old this year and in to its 5th generation. There is a reason that iPod has become so popular, it is not only easy to use, it is fairly feature rich, it can hold a lot of music, video, photos, contacts and more. But, perhaps one of the iPods most exciting features is that it like Adobe Photoshop in the photo editing category has 3rd party support locked up. They shear number of products available for the iPod makes it a great choice because this little white or black box can be made to do some incredible things.
One such 3rd party product is the iBoom boom box with FM Radio. This $99.99 item turns any iPod in to a portable boom box complete with speakers, FM turner with station memories. It can run on batteries or AC. It comes in black or white and I have to say it is very well built and is a solid little boom box.
The iBoom can be used with any iPod with a port connector (30 pin). This includes the latest 5th generation iPod, iPod Video, iPod nano 2nd generation, iPod nano 1st generation, iPod with color display, iPod, iPod Mini, etc.
When you are running the iBoom from AC power it charges your iPod as well so that it is always ready to go. The iBoom features 20 watt, four speaker design (2 woofers, 2 tweeters). It has a backlight LCD display, the FM tuner has a 2 memory function for easy access to two of your favorite radio stations, it also has in internal antenna. It feature a built in carry handle and has an auxiliary input for use with any device with an auxiliary output like a CD player, laptop computer, etc.
This is a very well made, great sounding, attractive portable music package that can turn most iPods in to a crowd pleasing, music pumping, jukebox. For $99.00 it is a very good buy and a great option for those with an iPod that want to share the music. My only complaint is that I wish it had a cordless remote with on iBoom storage for the remote. That would have been the icing on the cake. |
